Andrea Tenney

Learning Designer

“Creativity, curiosity, and education are strong personal values I hold, and I love that the work we do every day enables me to use them.”

Hungry employees and a 20-mile gap between the farm and closest place to grab a snack led Andrea to her first career. As owner and operator of Andrea’s Snack Shack, Andrea found ways to innovate. She lowered the cost of goods by networking with the owner of the local grocery store. At the age of 14, she expanded by adding microwave meals and frozen snacks. Years later, farmers, truck drivers, and tired neighbors continue to enjoy the snack shack. It still operates on the honor system. It was purchased by younger brother, Wesley, as Andrea headed to college.

Andrea graduated from the University of Nebraska with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Communications with a minor in Entrepreneurship. It’s a long title that means she can create, write, and isn’t afraid of new ideas. Throughout college, Andrea spent breaks facilitating workshops for Nebraska FFA and the National SkillsUSA organizations. Her skill and experience are a great combination for writing and designing learning experiences for clients.

Andrea’s wit is her shining feature. The girl has incredible timing. Friends and family anxiously await the annual family Christmas letter: a perfect demonstration of her wit and gift with words. Andrea, husband Jesse, and chocolate lab, Gibbs, call Lincoln, Nebraska home. Andrea is a baker; usually cookies with a preference for slightly under-baked. Follow up the baking with a long walk outdoors with a little star gazing and you have Andrea’s perfect day.
