The Producer Services Team at the National Pork Board is trying to find ways to build leadership-training experiences that do not require a large commitment of time while still meeting the need to develop a strong pool of human capital to serve as leaders for the industry. This site offers a number of resources for developing effective producer leaders.

To build a quality set of leadership training materials that meet the human capital need requires a strong understanding of the skills leaders must have. As such, the Producer Services team requested a small qualitative study to produce a better understanding of the leadership skills required for success in the modern pork industry. Below are the reports produced as a result of this endeavor. The information outlined in these reports serves as a basis for the development of the modules.

  • Executive Summary
    • A one-page summary of the study and results.
  • Final Report
    • A comprehensive report detailing the study, participants, methods, findings and recommendations.
  • PowerPoint(TM) Presentation
    • A comprehensive presentation summarizing the study, participants, methods, findings and recommendations.
