Cara has strong roots in agriculture and in education, growing up on a family farm in DeWitt, NE, and now living with her own family in the house her great-grandparents built in the 70s. Her upbringing has given her the skills necessary to be a valuable member of the Viviyac team.
Cara listens, analyzes and then shares. When she does, be ready because her ideas will wow you. While working for the National 4-H Center and then as a leadership development trainer in Washington D.C., Cara discovered how much she enjoyed that type of alternative education, and she also reaffirmed her belief that she always wanted to be involved in education.
Not only does Cara have her master’s degree in secondary education leadership, she also has in-the-classroom experience after teaching agriculture education for eight years in Northern Missouri. Although she thoroughly enjoyed her time as a classroom teacher, she especially loves being on the other side of things – creating the materials for people to teach. Cara’s specialty for Vivayic is writing curriculum and training materials that are innovative, brilliantly thought-out and user-friendly.
Cara’s gone from growing up on the family farm in Nebraska to Missouri and back again for the good life with husband Garrett and two daughters Maggie and Haddie. The farm gives her more space for her “projects” of which there are many. Refinishing furniture is the most recent addition to her list of hobbies that also includes music, sewing, crafting, reading, volleyball and trying new recipes like her favorite Chopped stars.
